As our first trip, and with our end to end trip only faintly in our minds, we set out at the start of 2009 to cycle the length of The Ridgeway for charity. In the end the trip was a success, and we managed to raise over £400 for these charities:

Starlight

Starlight is a very worthwhile charity for those children who have either serious or terminal illnesses. Starlight aims to brighten their future by granting them once in a lifetime wishes. They also provide hospital entertainment to take their mind off the pain and fear of their illnesses. Visit their website for further information.

Thames Valley & Chiltern Air Ambulance Trust

The Thames Valley & Chiltern Air Ambulance Trust is here to save lives; it's as simple as that. They have flown over 10,000 to get people to hospital in time. They are there for us, whatever the emergency, and are able to get to us and treat us in the least amount of time. As they receive no funding from the Government, they need all the help they can get. One air ambulance costs £1.7m a year to keep running. All the running costs come from the public in the form of donations, fundraising and sponsorship. For further information visit their website.
