Day 10 - Chester to Shrewsbury - 50 miles

Today was our rest day, a day to recover from the hills and tricky navigation of the days before. And it was, a nice easy 50 miles with some lovely towns en-route. Got going fairly early with my Granddad, Ken, cycling with us for the day. Not only was it great to have company, but also somebody who knew the route! We stopped in Ellesemere for lunch - Pete was more than happy to stop at "Pete's Cafe" and for once it wasn't raining so we could sit outside in the warmth. From there we continued on fairly flat roads, skirting the England-Wales border and practising our new Welsh speaking skills - vocabulary such as "Araf" and "Ysgol"

Soon we found ourselves in Shrewsbury, which was actually much bigger than we had expected. The last 6 or 7 miles of the day were spent cycling around the town but by then the sun was shining and our spirits had picked up. The end was in sight...nearly.
