Day 11 - Shrewsbury to Peterchurch - 70 miles

Day 11 started much the same way that day 10 finished. With food, and lots of it (which was great). Would like to take this opportunity to thank Rob, Rosie, Hannah and Samantha for their brilliant hospitality, without which we would not have finished feeling so good, or so full. From Shrewsbury we followed the A488 to Pontesbury, determined not to get lost on a route of mostly backroads.

Around Wentnor we battled with some hills and confusing signposts, but the weather was good again and it was nice to stay away from the busy roads. Again skirting the Welsh border, we passed through many villages with not only more sheep than people, but more sheep on the road than cars...only in Wales?

However, Herefordshire had a surprise for us. A 25% hill between Bredwardine and Dorstone. We all looked twice at the sign, but it really was that steep. After the hill though, we were in the Golden Valley and had an easy 6 miles to Poston Mill - the best campsite yet with great facilities and a nice tent field.
