Day 14 - Exeter to Fowey - 75 miles
After much map scouring (with our fancy new map), we decided not to go over Dartmoor, as we didn't fancy 7 steep climbs in a row. Instead we took a much better route, and had a day that made up for the two awful ones previously. The weather as we left Exeter was perfect, and we skirted Dartmoor through South Zeal on our way to Okehampton. Smugly crossing the A30 (the busy road that the more direct route takes) we carried on through Bridestow to our first big climb through Minions, enjoying the Cornish scenery, but not the Cornish hills, all the way to Bodinnick, opposite Fowey
With the tent set up and refreshing showers all round, we set out to the Old Ferry Inn unaware that an even bigger challenge than JOGLE itself awaited us - the aptly named "Tower Burger". In order, this was : Bottom of the burger bun, salad, 1/4lb burger, fried egg, two rashers of bacon and two sausages, followed by: another 1/4lb burger, fried egg, two more rashers of bacon and two sausages. Oh, and the top. And chips. Needless to say, we were not defeated. Bring on the last day.
