Day 7 - Loch Ken to Carlisle - 68 miles

Day 7 promised to be a little easier than the previous day, and we were looking forward to crossing the border and being in the same country as Land's End! After a large cooked breakfast, we set off onto flat roads through Castle Douglas and on to Dumfries.

From Dumfries it got a little hillier, but soon we found ourselves at Gretna and crossing the border into England. After a quick blast down the A7 we were in an extremely busy Carlisle. However, some skilled navigation meant that we easily found our turning and set off again towards Dalston

5 miles later, and we arrived at the campsite. Time for a much needed shower, and also the luxury of watching Dave in the campervan. Just like home? Not really. The hardest day was yet to come.
