Day 9 - Clitheroe to Chester - 80 miles
On Day 9 we faced a major challenge - how to get to Chester, but avoiding the main roads? As you can see from the map, this proved to be difficult, and the day involved a lot of stopping to work out where we were and where we were trying to go.
However, despite a near vertical hill out of Whalley and trying not to get lost in Blackburn, we still had to go on some main roads, and face the angry drivers. We were glad when we finally got on quieter roads towards Chester.
After the last two difficult days, we were happy that tomorrow was a "mere" 50 miles and would be our "rest day" on the way to Shrewsbury
